DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / EDITOR: Justin Warren

An award-winning writer/director/editor of several effects-heavy short films, Justin is an alumni of Tarrant County College, where he won Best Film Portfolio of the Year for two years in a row. His surreal horror film Pain is Beauty was a finalist at Houston Worldfest and was a winner at the Mid-Cities Film Festival. Zombabies, his latest film, a horror comedy set in a baby nursery during a zombie outbreak, has not only won several awards at various festivals, but has received rave five-star reviews from leading horror websites, has sold extremely well at conventions, and has kick-started Avengers of the Apocalypse. Justin has always thought outside of the box and works incessantly with never-ending enthusiasm and passion; it was this that created his award-winning shorts, won his awards in college, and has made Avengers of the Apocalypse a fresh and entertaining series into what is easily his favorite genre.

WRITER / PRODUCER: Jason Matthews

Jason has been writings scripts for over twelve years, in various different genres. Constantly busy with multiple scripts at a time, Jason has become known for pumping out quality feature length scripts in an incredibly short amount of time. At this time, Jason has several scripts being seriously considered for funding. He’s also been hired to rewrite a script called Mockingbird which will shoot in the Dallas area. In 2007 he won the best writer award for the 48 Hour Film competition in Austin. He has been working in the Austin film industry since moving there in summer 2002, working in various departments. His credits include When Zachary Beaver Came To Town, The Gunman, The King, Invincible, Friday Night Lights: The Series, Everything Or Nothing, God Thinks You’re A Loser, Zombabies, and countless shorts. Jason and Justin are co-creators of the Avengers of the Apocalypse series.

.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY: Brandon Lee Torres

Brandon is Justin’s ideal choice for DP. Alumni of the same college, and a very dear friend, Justin and Brandon have worked together on numerous features and shorts for seven years, including Birdnose Productions’ Underbelly, and the HBO drama 39 Pounds of Love. Brandon has been working as a professional photographer and DP for ten years, and he was the DP for Justin’s short films Pain is Beauty and Zombabies, and was the co-DP for Hazmat J alongside Justin. His other credits as DP include the films Moment, Waiting, and Mockingbird. Brandon is a hard-working and loyal professional with just the right experience to tackle the Avengers of the Apocalypse series.

ART DIRECTOR: Stephen Fay

Stephen is a skilled craftsman who met Jason, Brandon, and Justin on the set of South Austin Pictures' "God Thinks You're A Loser". Ironically enough, one of Stephen's jobs in that film was to make an animatronic baby that could spew just about any bodily fluid at high velocities and fall to pieces on command. Needless to say, when "Zombabies" came around, Stephen was the first crew member to spring into Justin's mind. He's been an extremely valuable asset and a wonderful friend. Whenever you need an army of babies or a replica of a handheld nuke launcher, Stephen is the man.

SECOND UNIT DIRECTORS: Gabriel Lopez and Courtney Carpenter Hale

Our big zombie days tend to get very ambitious, with epic wars at the capitol or chaos in downtown. Gabriel and Courtney have both served as second unit directors on busy days, either splitting off into separate groups or taking command of a certain aspect of the main action.

MAKE-UP FX: Chase Randolph

He may be a newcomer to our crew, but we feel like we've known him for years. Chase's passion and ambition really spoke to our hearts. We met him at Fear Fest 2 in Dallas, and he's been here since the busy days of Hazmat J. He was responsible for the amazing look of Toxic Gloria.
